Goods made in China

Bakit parang maraming nakikita ngayong defects sa anything made in China? Sa news last night, may New Zealander na nag-reklamo kase nasunog yung balat nung anak nya when the flannel jammies caught fire. Kasi daw, Made in China. Hmm....flannel and any pure cotton material eh madaling mag-ningas.

Di kaya another round na naman ng China bashing to?

Not to trivialize the poor kid's suffering, I would answer "yes" to both question.

Japan went through the same in the early 70s. Taiwan in the early 80s and Korea in the early 90s. Oh there is definitely some truth to the inferiority of a emerging economy's products, but I'd say a good portion of the hoopla is a reaction of "first world" economies having to take a smaller share of the global wealth.

Expanding a bit to other China products (i.e. tools ) it seems that counterfeit China goods cause bad reputation for branded products manufactured in this country.

IIRC, patents only have a 19 year shelf life so anything patented before 1991 is now fair game. My point is that some of the "counterfeit" tools are in fact just very poor copies of the original, or even were really made to be one-shot use-and-dispose deals. Part of the problem is buyers expecting more than they should.

There is the flipside too of buyers getting more than want but that's another topic.

Original or rather branded china tools isn't so bad
its just that most of them is over rated (meaning its capacity indicated is much higher compared to actuality)

there are some china tools (any tools) that can actually match originals (but not surpass them)

if you know what you are buying and actually know w/c ones is good... then its quite alright to buy china tools

some made in US, Japan or whatever tools (same for china) also fails if its application is wrong

try asking sales people that can actually answer your technical questions rather than just smooth talking you to buying

note: most more technical people( not all, tend to forget prices) but can answer you or explain how to properly use tools they are actually selling
