I'm about to build a new boat measuring 18' x 8'. I figure I'll need a covered space of about 22' x 12'. I'm undecided on whether to build a shed (permanent) or just a shelter (lower cost).
If I go with a shelter, I am thinking a tarp roof and even walls. I built one before using bamboo and sacolene. I worked well enough during the summer but when the rainy season started it was utterly destroyed. It cost about P3k in materials: P1.5k for the bamboo and P1k+ for the sacolene. It took a few days though to assemble because we had to tie up the bamboo, etc. Oh but this was HUGE, maybe 24' x 24'. My biggest mistake was making it too high, maybe 15'.
My next build will take about a 12 to 18 months. So a temporary shelter will do again but maybe I'd like to make a more permanent structure. So I'm open to suggestions. Help?
The only other constraint is that there cannot be a post on the 12' side, or else the boat won't come out.
Please suggest materials and the estimated cost.
