This is my first post here, and a big hello from Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
I am having a new house built here and have a question about wood flooring:
Seems like the most common wood flooring used here is those small Solid Wood Blocks (parquet). These are the pieces of wood (Nara wood ?) than measure about 1 1/2" wide x 4" long. We have them in the bedrooms of the 3 year old house we are now renting, and they were used in the bedrooms of the early 80s house we were previously renting. Not a bad wood floor, but these small blocks have a tendency to come loose ... The thing is, I really don't like this style of wood floor all that much, and it's very time consuming to have installed new.
What would be really nice is the "Engineered" style wood flooring. This style of wood flooring is made from some type of planking, with a very high quality wood veneer (ie: real Oak, Maple, etc) as the top layer ... Very very nice! Of course it's more expensive than the "Laminate" (fake) type wood floors that have gotten more popular here now.
The problem is; I haven't seen these Engineered (veneer) type floor planks here in the PI.
Since they obviously import the Laminate planks, I would think they also import the Engineered planks, but I just don't know where to buy them.
Any help is appreciated.
Ron,
