Hi. I only have a small living room, so to add density to it, I'm thinking of mounting a decorative wall mirror on one side. Are there any other alternative to mirrors to make a room appear larger? Once I saw silver stickers sticked to clear glass, but I don't know how that is called. Any thoughts? Tia. ;)

Other tips (aside from wall mirrors):
1. Paint in solid colors
2. Use metallic accessories/accents
3. Do not use heavy drapes
4. Not so bulky furnitures

To add to what manggyver mentioned. The solid paint to use should be bright/light colors. Dark colors tend to make the space look smaller.

Will vertical stripes make a room appear larger? If so, should it be wide or narrow stripes?

My wallpaper is due for replacement and I am thinking of changing it from small floral pattern to stripes.

I am scared of large mirrors so I can't make use of that "trick". Thanks!

Shirts with vertical stripes make you look thinner while horizontal stripes make you look "chubby." Maybe the same trick on perception is applicable to your room.

Vertical stripes would make the room appear taller (ceiling higher) but tighter. On the other hand, horizontal stripes will make it appear more spacious but with lower ceiling.

I think the safest is, like the others suggested, solid but light colors. Maaliwalas sa paningin. Walang effect sa perceived size both in horizontal and vertical axis.
