anybody have an idea where i can get a tube. been told that the stuff that come in cans are not as good as the paste.

We use Dow Corning 4 Electrical Insulating Compound, a.k.a. DC4.
Comes in 150 g (5.3 oz) tubes, about $11-15.
Specs are on Dow Corning website.

I would also be interested in local price and availability.
