A 220cm long bench in a bare spot in the house.

i had to put a nosing on the edge to keep it from bending. This would've looked awful if i didnt have a router.

I was having problems as to how to mount the legs to the seat in a stable faship. Then i remember from another forums post that he installed a block so the bench top could sit on it without having the need to clamping or fixing anything in position.

All routing including planing of these were done by the bosch gmr 1 mini router.

Haven t stained yet and the legs are still only screwed, Will glue then screw tomorrow. Its going to have a small table companion on the right and an umbrella holder companion on the left.... but thats for a different day

Congratulations Bee. Looks real fine.

How did you edge join those planks? Is there something like a biscuit in there?

The bench was stained with brown mahogany first then with wenge (black) without sanding in between (which defeated my numerous sandings before coz now it isnt perfectly smooth) I dont know if that was the right way to do it but it got the color i wanted (gradient of dark to medium dark browns)

I had a problem with the polyurethane. I got run downs and the unevenness shows up... o baka hindi pa fully cured. its semi gloss Zar. The stain is Konig and after staining i primed it with Zar wipe on tung oil (fake tung oil)

pictures tell a thousand LIES hahahaha weird nga eh.

there is even unevenness in the glossiness. I might just give it a hand rub using Scratch Out or Wipe Out to even the gloss

if you're worried about uneveness, use scotchbrite scrubbing pad (wag steel wool ha :)) ... or better yet a 600grit sandpaper so you won't go deep into the coat...
overall, it is very nice as it is...
