no nonsense quick squaring router fence tip

i bought these keychain type steeltape from handyman and a steal at 50% off...

the width of the tape is about 1/4"
what i liked about this tape is its flat unlike its bigger siblings that are convex. this will serve some purpose to my router table.

even though i have these wonderful fence clamps allowing me to set my router fence quickly, i was still looking for other ways how to quickly position the fence on both ends of the plate.sometimes its a time consuming thing.

with the gmr1 armed with a 1/4" straight bit (i would have wanted the four flute spiral bit but it was too long the overhang is greater than 1/8") i routed the recess for the steel tape (a tenth of a millimeter perhaps) on the phenolic plate.
